Why is it helpful to add channels to a niche?
- We recommend adding 10-20 channels to your niche. The more channels in your niche that you track (i.e. add to your niche), the better our analysis will be about how your niche is growing relative to the channels you are researching and relative to your performance. You can track up to 50 channels.
- The Niche Insights Leaderboard displays your ranking among the channels you've added to your niche. You can sort the leaderboard by metrics like views, subscribers, and more.
- Niche Mapping - Click on Manage Niche to see the number of suggested channels you should add to get useful insights about your niche and get suggested channels to add to your Niche. These recommendations are based on channels you’re already subscribed to.
How are the growth rates calculated?
-
Views Growth: (Total Current Views - Total Views 30 Days Ago) / Total Views 30 Days Ago
-
Subscriber Growth: (Total Current Subscribers - Total Subscribers 30 Days Ago) / Total Subscribers 30 Days Ago
The growth calculation based on views calculates the median growth rate for the niche, your channel, and the channel you are reviewing. We then compare the channel you are reviewing against the median growth rate of the niche, and you. We do the same process for the growth calculation for subscribers and comparison against the niche and your channel.
What are the outlier metrics in Content Standouts?
Content Standouts display outlier videos from each channel in your niche that either overperform or underperform against a baseline. Additionally, we have features we are developing to give you better insight into how the niche performs on YouTube.
Outliers
See how many times the video has exceeded the channel’s average performance since it was published, helping you identify standout content (e.g. “20x better”).
Time-Weighted Performance Rating
We’ve scanned your niche’s content landscape and analyzed the performance accounting for time. This reveals which videos from other channels are capturing attention and which aren’t. High percentiles highlight what’s engaged a broader audience more successfully relative to how long the video has been live; low percentiles show where content has had a narrower audience interest. It gives an early signal into what’s working—and what’s not.
What’s the difference between the Outliers Tab and the Highest Views Tab in Content Standouts?
- The “Outliers” view gives you standout videos by how rare the video’s performance is relative to that channel’s normal performance, from when the video was published and ranked across your niche.
- The “Highest Views” view gives you standout videos by their total view metrics, ranked across your niche.
- There is often an overlap of the videos that show up on either tab because both tabs are assessments of which videos stand out for their performance.
Does it have short-form or live-stream videos in its metrics or features?
-
Unfortunately, not at this time.
Is there a limit to how many people I can add to Niche
- No
