No need to update Shorts individually anymore. With Related Video Manager (RVM), you can quickly apply a Related Video to multiple Shorts at once—saving time and boosting views where they count most.
Where is it and how do I use it?
You can find the tool in YouTube Studio via the Shorts portal. Use the checkbox to select some or all of the Shorts you want to update:
After selecting the Shorts, click on the tool and select either Add or Clear a Related Video from the Shorts:
In the first step, select the video you want to add to your Shorts; your Related Video can be a public or unlisted Short or Long Format video. Follow the prompts until you're finished and Reload the page:
If you run into any errors on the last step, you can click on that video to update it manually.
Who has access?
This is a Legend tier tool (Legend users get 5 uses per month). Each action, to add or clear related videos is considered one use.
How do I select all of my shorts?
If you have multiple pages of Shorts, use the 'Select all' option to select everything:
We're using YouTube's built-in filtering and multi-select features, which have some particular quirks when working with large numbers of Shorts. For instance, if you "select all" and then deselect a few, YouTube will only apply your selections to the Shorts visible on the current page.
Here are some tips if you're working with a lot of Shorts:
-
Set your page view to the maximum of 50 rows to make bulk actions more efficient
-
Use hashtags or keywords in your titles to filter and quickly find the Shorts you want to update
-
If you're updating the majority of your Shorts, it's usually faster to apply changes to all of them first, then, go back and manually update the few Shorts you don’t want the changes on—either by resetting the Related Video to none or by assigning a different one
Why isn't it working?
If you're unable to use the tool, check YouTube's Related Video tool on the Video Details page to see if your account has access; our tool will not work if you cannot use YouTube's advanced feature (you can find more information here):
